Amethyst Lodge offers you the perfect relaxing hideaway in an architect designed, boutique Guest House, set on 10 acres amongst rolling hills, vineyards and wineries in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Amethyst Lodge is the only B&B in the valley awarded a five star rating by AAAT.
Located in the quiet, secluded area of Dixons Creek, near Yarra Glen, it is only an hour by car (60km) from the centre of Melbourne or Tullamarine Airport.
The Lodge's guest wing has four beautiful private suites, a guest lounge and dining room as well as a spa room and a separate games room, all for the exclusive use of guests.
The guest suites are spacious and individually decorated to reflect the gemstones Opal, Amethyst, Sapphire and Aquamarine. Each suite has a private balcony with spectacular views across the valley to the Great Dividing Range and two have their own private spa bath and lounge. Whichever you choose, a therapeutic spa followed by a game of billiards or pool will work up the perfect appetite for dinner.
On weekdays, host Marjorie will serve a gourmet dinner upon request (popular on Friday nights for those escaping the city) and at weekends Mike offers a complimentary chauffeur-driven service to any of the nearby award-winning restaurants or cafés.
Special touches include a complimentary cheese and fruit platter on arrival, fresh flowers, and home made cookies. The sumptuous cooked breakfast and willingness to meet special requests, such as romantic candlelit dinners for birthdays and anniversaries, ensure that Amethyst Lodge continues to develop a loyal following.
We can also arrange hot-air balloon flights (we are only a few minutes from designated ballooning assembly points), personalised winery tours and packages with local restaurants, as well as in-house massages.

ACCOMMODATION
Amethyst Lodge has four spacious and well-appointed king size private suites.
You can choose from two Super Deluxe Spa Suites (Amethyst or Opal) and two Deluxe Suites (Sapphire or Aquamarine). All of the suites have a king-sized bed or, on request, twin beds, ensuite bathroom with shower, TV, music centre, reverse cycle AC, tea and coffee making facilities and private balcony.
The more spacious Super Deluxe Spa Suites also have their own split-level lounge, DVD and CD's, as well as a two-person spa bath in the ensuite bathroom.
Smoking is not permitted inside the guest areas
OTHER FEATURES
You can choose to spend time in the comfortable guest lounge, relaxing by the cosy log fire, reading a book or delving into the extensive collection of DVD's and CD's.
Ideal for small groups of friends, wedding parties or birthday and anniversary celebrations, Amethyst Lodge also has a games room opening on to a grassy terrace overlooking an orchard of grapefruit and apple trees. In the Games Room you can choose between billiards, pool, table tennis or darts. Alternatively you can luxuriate in the four person spa in our private Spa Room overlooking our picturesque dam or, for the more energetic, work out on one of the exercise machines.
Take in the views and observe the abundant bird life during a leisurely walk around the extensive grounds, or simply experience the peacefulness of the wooded area around the dam.

BREAKFAST
One of the principal delights of a Bed & Breakfast stay is surely a leisurely cooked breakfast, with no effort required on the part of guests.
At Amethyst Lodge, we look forward to serving you in our dining room a full, cooked traditional English breakfast, with an accompanying buffet of fresh fruit, juices, homemade breads and jams. The dining room has wonderful views over the distant hills. Daily specials also may include smoked salmon dishes, pancakes or Norwegian waffles served with a mixed berry compôte.
Another breakfast option is Marjorie's home-made “Bircher muesli” – awarded first prize for innovative and tempting breakfast recipes as judged by William Angliss College Executive Chef at the 2005 Accommodation Getaways Victoria Annual Conference. Morning and afternoon teas are available
upon request and platters of sumptuous Yarra Valley produce can be ordered.
DINNERS
Dinners are available where pre-ordered, except on Saturday nights and may be served in the dining room or the privacy of your suite. Prices are inclusive of choice of specialty teas and coffee. Special dietary requirements are catered for on request.
